New Year's Day Sunrise Prayer Relay 2017 Testimonies

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer at sunrise on New Year's Day 2017
Christians in hundreds of locations in at least 23 nations prayed the Lord's Prayer together in unity around the world

We are so blessed by the amazing messages, emails and posts to social media that we are recieving and we want to share everyone with you so this "Testimony Page" has been created to share testimonies, photos, videos and audio recordings from some of the different locations around the world, we pray that sharing these stories will encourage and inspire more people to pray and seek God in 2017.

Unity is diversity in harmony and it is beautiful to see all the different locations participating in their own ways but all in perfect harmony as we pray together "Your kingdom come and Your will be done..." together in unity like a mighty wave from the east to the west.

We will never know fully how many people, locations or nations were a part of this Sunrise Prayer Relay but we do know that God heard every prayer and He is faithful to answer every prayer according to His will for His Glory.

He says "You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your Heart." Jeremiah 29:13

It was a beautiful way to start 2017 - to participate in the Sunrise Prayer Relay. We were a small group of 4 at Barrack Point this morning, but the presence of God was surely with us as we sang and prayed and read scripture together as the sun rose for the first time this year. I seek and declare God's favour and blessings over my family and friends and all of your families and friends. I pray that in this new year, nothing will prevent us from living the victorious lives in the freedom that Jesus won for us on the cross. Grace, peace, love and joy to you all.

My kids, my mum and a dear family friend and I went over to a nearby lake at Woodcroft to pray and declare The Lordship of Jesus Christ over our communities and Australia. I woke up at 5.30am due to the birds and light! I could not see the sun rise due to the fog and cloud filtering all. But we know it's there (the sun rising) through faith, just as God is, though we may not see or feel him at that moment. We prayed as Christ did and I knew God was with me and our brothers and sisters all over the world at that time, watching with joy as He filled us with the graces we needed. It was truly a blessing'

I had the vision during the Our Father worship song. It was a picture of a person running urgently with a flaming torch, trying to get somewhere in the dark. Darkness was everywhere but the person suddenly stopped. They put the torch down and it lit an oil trench and suddenly a castle lit up with flame, then then it went to more and more towers and parts of the castle, building up high into the sky. The castle was symbolic of the kingdom of God. It had always been there but no one could see it because it was in darkness. The man was distressed because no people were coming to the castle so he ran back to get people, show them the kingdom and help them into it.

North Head 'The North Fort'
Sydney, NSW, Australia

8 of us gathered on North Head from the north shore and northern beaches regions of Sydney.
We met at a place in 'The North Fort'   called the 'monument to the Defense of Sydney.'  We felt this was really appropriate and asked that our Lord be this for our city.
A time of dedication was followed by reading Psalm 24.  Beautiful worship and honoring of our triune God preceded the dawn Lord’s prayer.  The shofar was blown to the west, north,  east and south.
We then followed the declarations given by the organizers and read and prayed through the Bible verses.  The Lord really used the verses to inspire us in praying.
The banners were used to supplement our prayers as the Holy Spirit lead us.
We ended with communion and asking that the Lord come into our nation, as only He can save us.

I counted 15 people mainly Gateway and Lighthouse which is fantastic. A confirmed word was Isaiah 60:1-5 with other words about breakthrough. Jennie would remember the details. 
I thought it was interesting and encouraging that this is a 'people movement', and probably 'kingdom designed' to be that way. Our morning was even blessed with a pod of dolphins cruising by.

Our group was small but enthusiastic.
​Two days ago I felt called to invite people, who like to pray to join together on Dingley’s new high point: a reclaimed tip.
Four of us met, reading psalms and the suggested readings. At sunrise we prayed the Lord’s prayer and concluded with prayers for our city.
I was encouraged that four of us from Christ Church Dingley were able to gather at such short notice.
Next year we can plan better and advertise through the church communities.
It is an appropriate way to welcome the new year as God’s gift to us.

We had an awesome time of worship and prayer at sunrise, New Year's Day 2017, at this beautiful spot near Eltham, Victoria. Just four people had said they were coming - and thirteen turned up! (one is behind the camera). As we prayed and worshipped in song, one person had a 'picture' of a stone being thrown into water and ripples spreading out, and there was a sense that our prayer was that stone, causing an ongoing ripple effect in our community and beyond, to the nation.

28 people from 5 different churches across Sunraysia joined at the Merbein look out (the highest point in Sunraysia), to welcome, decree and bless our region into a prosperous 2017. 
What a wonderful way to open a new chapter into His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.

We had a wonderful and very blessed time on top of the Merbein lookout, overlooking the Murray River and the city of Mildura. Worshipping, praying, declaring and we shared communion together.
Around 20 people came from 5 different churches together to declare Jesus Christ as King over the region and occupy the gateway of the New Year in the high places.
(Very good that someone prayed about the river - waterways have been very significant as we have been learning in Melbourne!)
I come from the Arrow 24/7 Prayer House in Melbourne (I grew up in Mildura) and it has been a remarkable testimony how we started praying for Pastor Rebekah Milne and the prayer warriors of Mildura. The Lord set up the connections, paths and relationships. Only before Christmas did Rebekah and I meet, and then spontaneously, this wonderful Sunrise Prayer Relay meeting was organised!
What a blessed and anointed time we had. We also prayed for the National Day of Prayer and Fasting.

Mt Gravatt

10 of us gathered on Mt Gravatt, second highest point in Brisbane to watch the sunrise at 4.56am. We read the Lord's Prayer and the Declaration of Jesus as Lord. Then we prayed through the prayer points praying in different ways - pairs, triplets, together with someone praying or all praying out loud together. Two hours just went by so quickly. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and we had a sense that this was a a seed being sown for our big event in Brisbane for the National Day of Prayer & Fasting on 25th February at the City Hall and the Bible Reading Marathon. It was also wonderful knowing others were praying on Mt Cootha, Woody Point, Wynnum and Wellington Point.

We received the email about this event on new years eve and thought we would love to join in permitting it wasn't busy as we were working a 12 hour shift from new years eve to new years day. I managed to catch the sun rise alone during work and hubby and I were able to pray together after the sun had risen but in the privacy of our own home as we are security guards at Southbank parklands in Queensland.

Photos from Bundaberg and Bargara Sunrise New Years Day Prayer meeting. Eight  present after learning about call to pray 2 days prior. The Lord has had some of  this group interceeding for the region since 2010. Eight has been a prominent number and connected to restoration for us here. 
Started at 5.00am with worship then declarations and worship again then into the prayer time, finished around 8.15 am following printed  format and adding Arise Australia as an added declaration. On finishing we also rang a bell calling Bundaberg to wake up. When arriving at church later the scripture in NT with "wake up" was the sermon topic.

Four enthusiastic souls met at the Rotary Lookout on Tamborine Mountain to praise and pray and declare Jesus Christ Lord of all.
There were millions of stars in a clear black sky when my journey began.  By first light the car was driving up the mountain, and as the sun rose, we were declaring the name of Jesus, and speaking the Lord’s Prayer in unison.
We prayed for the nation, and for Israel, and took communion.  It was hard to part!
The Word of God was proclaimed.  How blessed we are to have the freedom to do this in public!

Some of those who gathered at 4:30am on Howells Knob Reesville Rd (NOTE the God-incident connection with Rees Howells Intercessor?) drove from towns off the Range to join us - a number of congregations represented. A powerful time of worship, prayer and proclamation. One word kept cropping up - and even later on in the day in church services - BOW. We felt a strong prophetic call 1st to God's people, to 'bow the knee' to the LORDship of King Jesus (humbling ourselves 2Chron 14:7), then to our leaders - governmental and academic - to bow to His laws, then to our societies to turn from their hedonistic lawlessness, bow and acknowledge that He is Lord and we are all LOST WITHOUT HIM. We have lost our way; He is the Way. Without bowing and acknowledging Him we remain lost.
The 360-degree views were glorious and nature sang with us as the glory of God arose. We expect great things this year as the wave of His glory rolls across the Globe. What a privilege to be living in the Rising of the Sun.

Very pleased with results. There may have been others but location has several places where we could gather - I had not indicated. Lesson learnt. Will be prepared for next time. We met at Beer Barrel Beach, on the north east corner of Tasmania, St Helens being our nearest centre. Three locals met for prayers, as you can see from the picture it was an overcast morning. So thrilled to be a part of this - bigger and bigger next year we pray. Another of our intercessors was at Pyengana - 25 kms inland, went to her highest point the Little Plain and shared the site with a forest raven !!  Such a joy to share with others

​Success Hill Reserve

It was a very good day. It was a wonderfully clear and glorious sunrise. 14 came – backgrounds including Baptist, Church of Christ, Christian Missionary Alliance, Pentecostal and Catholic (and two Anglicans that would have loved to have been with us were on Beach Mission down South in Denmark).
The setting – Success Hill Reserve – overlooking the Swan River was stunning with a good view of the sun rising over the Darling Range. The historical significance of the setting with its Noongar history and early white settlement also gave it meaning for a New Year dedication of our future.
The quiet singing “Brother let me be your servant” was – as expected and hoped for – a good song to sing to each other in view of our wide representation and our desire to work together and be a strong Christian voice for our nation.
It was a privilege to be there and to be sharing with like-minded people determined for God to be glorified in ourselves, our families, our church ministries, our governments and our nation.

13 braved the windy early morning (including one dear lady on her gopher aged over 90!) to pray for our nation, leaders, youth, the church in Australia and our families at the Swan rivers edge at 5am. Here's what looks like a post-sunrise photo from where we were in Minden Lookout Point, Tauranga, Aotearoa/New Zealand. The dark clouds were brooding for ages and we sensed the brooding and moodiness of the enemy trying to block the sunrise. As we prayed in the Spirit then through Matthew 6:9-13, Declaration and Prayer points there was a clearing :-)
The Lord impressed ... Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. We had a beautiful morning in Linkoping Sweden at the sunriseprayerrelay. We were not many but we who were there got to pray for 2017, our city, our church and leaders. We personally got to give 2017 to the Lord and ask for his blessing and protection.
Isaiah 43:19-21 became a theme as well is Great is thy faithfulness since these scriptures and songs resonated with our hearts in the morning and the messages in our different churches later in the day had the same theme!
